New Year's Revelations
Out for a walk. Sunny cold morning. Breathing. Walking quick to stay warm. Then, breathing center. Deep root chakra. Remembering the tree roots and fungi and seeds yet to sprout beneath the snow beneath the soil in the womb. Slowing down. Breathing. Step into the shady place where the sun does not yet reach. Cool like a dip in the river. Air smells of the river’s origins higher up the mountain. No money can buy that smell. Like rain and wildflowers even in January. Step into the sun and the snow glitters a million shining diamonds. Breathing. Twinkling at 8 am. How it is all so alive and yet frozen solid? Waiting. Patient. On her own Time, the Earth spins.
